The music of Pétrole emerges from rhythmic cycles, timbral research and a passion for improvisation. The four musicians, always seeking for a new way to interpret the written material, bring their musical personalities to build the sound of the band by engaging themselves in a process of real-time re-composition. At the crossroads between Mbase, Pierre Henry and Javanese Gamelan, Pétrole’s music intends to create new musical horizons from old elements, a deep and dancing sound for the audience to grasp.
