BAUM is a quartet founded by saxophonist Sol Léna-Schroll. Originally formed as a trio, the project has continued to evolve since 2025 with the addition of flautist Fanny Ménégoz and double bassist Étienne Renard, alongside drummer Samuel Ber. The group’s music is built around long rhythmic and melodic cycles that evoke the worlds of Octurn, Magic Malik and Steve Coleman. Sol Léna-Schroll’s compositions offer each musician a genuine space for expression, where musicality, attentive listening and virtuosity serve the collective. From this interaction emerges an organic, vibrant and poetic music—a jazz in motion that combines rigor, freedom and sensitivity.
